On Tuesday, October 1, the Soledad Police Department held Coffee With a Cop. Around 150 Soledad residents took this opportunity to meet their officers and enjoy coffee and pastries. Roughly 200 pastries were handed out. Soledad PD received donations from La Reina ice cream for agua de limon con pepino, La Plaza bakery for cookies, Gonzales Valley Donuts for donuts, and Soledad Starbucks for Coffee.
“We had an incredible reaction from the community,” says Victims Assistance Advocate Caitlan Zamudio, everyone was supportive and excited to have the opportunity to connect with officers. The intent of hosting this event was mainly to build trust in our community and to connect neighbors and law enforcement. The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve. This is a great way for community members to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in their community.”
