NOTICE OF ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a general municipal election will be held in the City of Soledad on the 5th day of November 2024, for the purpose of electing one (1) person to the Office of Mayor, for a term set to expire November 3, 2026, and two (2) Councilmember positions for newly established District Nos. 3 and 4 for a term set to expire November 7, 2028.

The position of the Mayor will be selected “at large”. This means that all registered voters across the City of Soledad can vote for the position of the candidate of their choosing running for the position of Mayor. For the elections in Districts Nos. 3 and 4, only registered voters within each district can vote for the candidate running for that district. The Nomination filing period to qualify as an official candidate for the November 5, 2024, election will open Monday, July 15, 2024, and close Friday, August 9, 2024. The filing period will automatically be extended to Wednesday, August 14, 2024, if an eligible incumbent does not file or fails to qualify by 5:00 p.m. by the close of the filing period of August 9, 2024.  For a city council district office, you must be registered within the district you wish to serve at the time nomination papers are issued.

Interested registered voters of the City of Soledad may obtain Nomination Papers by making an appointment with the City Election Official at the Office of the City Clerk during regular business hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at Soledad City Hall, 248 Main Street, Soledad, California.
