On Wednesday, June 26, the Soledad Police Department, in collaboration with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officers, and Monterey County Probation proudly took part in the Special Olympics torch run. This incredible organization creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities to display their remarkable talents in sports and other activities.

The law enforcement community is uniting to accompany the “Flame of Hope,” the Special Olympics torch, on its historic journey to the 2024 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games in Santa Clara this June. With the support of hundreds of law enforcement personnel and agencies from Northern California, our department will wholeheartedly carry the “Flame of Hope” through our community, symbolizing our unwavering commitment to the Special Olympics athletes whose lives are positively impacted by this program.
The run commenced at the Soledad Windmill Restaurant and concluded at the Police Department. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the community members and business owners who cheered us on along the way!
