On Monday, June 3, the Soledad City Council along with the Salinas Valley Pride, the Epicenter, and Soledad residents joined together to raise the Pride Flag in honor of LGBTQ+ Month. This ceremony is the third time that the City of Soledad raises the flag and is the only city in South Monterey County to do so.
The City of Soledad remains committed to being a city where everyone belongs. Speakers at the ceremony included Soledad Mayor Anna Velazquez, Soledad Councilmember Fernando Ansaldo-Sánchez, Soledad resident Diana Garza, Soledad High School GSA Advisors Rebecca Johnston-Carter and Bridgit Lee, Salinas Valley Pride President Eric Mora, and Deputy Director of the Epicenter Sam Gomez.
The flag will remain raised for the entire month of June.
